Hi there! My name is Darnell, and I will try here to guide you on your path "From Debt to Financial Freedom, Unlocking Financial Empowerment."
  
What did we learn from the stock market crash of 2008? During the crash of 2008, many middle and low-income families lost their jobs, homes, retirement, small businesses went under, and corporations needed bailouts. Eventually, many individuals, families, and corporations had to file bankrupt.

Okay, fast forward to 2019, the International Monetary Fund reported the global economy was going through an economic slowdown. The economy was growing at its slowest pace since the crash of 2008. Then the 2020 stock market crash due to the result of the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 accelerated the economic collapse. History has repeated itself, massive unemployment, individuals and families unable to pay for rent or mortgages: corporations and small businesses seeking bailouts, and individuals and families receiving stimulus checks.

Have we learned anything from 2008 and now happening again in 2020. I believe many individuals and families learned from the market crash of 2008 and took corrective measures, except for some corporations that took their bailout and bought their stock buybacks. But the economic data shows that most Americans did not learn from the market cash of 2008. They continue their spending habits, creating more debt, not building an emergency fund for unexpected events, and not saving in the long term in case of job loss.
 
We live in a service economy with low wages. We have an income disparity gap where the wealthy are among the few, which has forced most Americans not to make adjustments in their spending when living from paycheck to paycheck. 

I decided to launch a social media platform. To educate, counsel, and coach individuals and families on financial empowerment, personal financial education, financial counseling education, college planning education, retirement planning education, and how current business and economic news can affect your finances. The title of that social media platform is Empowering Your Finance.

Empowering Your Finance will begin by following our "Building A Personal Financial Foundation" philosophy. I aim to inspire people to pursue and achieve their financial goals and live on their terms in this global economic system.
